The Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition, apremier international philatelic extravaganza co-organized by Macao Post andTelecommunications Bureau (CTT) and Macau Philatelic Association, officiallydrew to a successful close on 1 July. Over its six-day run, the exhibition drewover 10,000 visitors and showcased approximately1,500 frames of rare stamp collections from more than 40 countries and regions,cementing its status as a major highlight on the international philateliccalendar. The enthusiastic public response successfully promoted localstamp-collecting culture while showcasing Macao’s unique appeal as a vibranthub where Chinese and Western cultures meet.

On 30 June, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition entered its penultimate day, designated as “Collection Day.” From stamps to broader collectibles, every piece of miniature history serves as a witness to time and story.

The youth represent a vital bridge for cultural heritage and the future of philatelic art. On 29 June, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition hosted “Youth Day,” aiming to introduce the younger generation to the beauty of stamps and sustain the spiritual core of philatelic culture through a lively program of activities.

Postage stamps are far more than mere tokens of postage; they are artistic vehicles and cultural microcosms on a miniature canvas. To highlight this, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition designated 28 June as the “Art Day,” showcasing the dynamic synergy where traditional philately meets contemporary art.

Stepping into its second day on 27 June, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition celebrated “Postcard Day,” guiding the public to explore the boundless creativity and allure of philatelic art through interactive workshops and topical seminars.

On 26 June, the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition officially commenced, kicking off the six-day philatelic extravaganza with “Stamp Day” as its opening theme. The first day brought together postal representatives and philatelic experts from around the world, guiding visitors through an immersive exploration of stamp production and design craftsmanship.

The Macao2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition (referred to as “MACAO 2026”), co-organizedby the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) and Macau PhilatelicAssociation, held its grand opening ceremony on the morning of 26 June at CotaiExpo Hall A, The Venetian Macao. The ceremony officially raised the curtain onthis highly anticipated six-day (26 June to 1 July) international philatelicevent. As the first-ever specialized world stamp exhibition hosted in Macao,the event not only showcases a spectacular lineup of rare philatelic items fromaround the globe but also uniquely coincides with the centenary of theFédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), making it a historic milestoneof extraordinary significance.

The highly anticipated “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” (hereafter referredto as “Macao 2026”) will officially open on 26 June, 2026. Theexhibition is co-organized by Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and MacaoPhilatelic Association, under the patronage of the Fédération Internationale dePhilatélie (FIP)and the auspices of the Federationof Inter-Asian Philately.  Running forsix consecutive days at Cotai Expo Hall A of The Venetian Macao, the exhibitionwarmly welcomes stamp enthusiasts from home and abroad, as well as localresidents and tourists.

To celebrate the Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition, Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) announces that a Temporary Post Counter will be set up at Cotai Expo Hall A, The Venetian Macao, from 26th June to 1st July, 2026, to provide the commemorative postmark cancellation service for the "Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition".

The "Guess Tong Tong’s MysteryColor" campaign, launched by the Macao Post andTelecommunications Bureau (CTT) to build momentum for theupcoming Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition, has concluded successfully on 20 June, gaining enthusiastic responses from the general publicand philatelists who participated to guess the hidden color of the mystery box figurine. This reflects the public’skeen anticipation for this international philatelic event.

Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) participated in the 14^thMacao International Travel (Industry) Expo from 10^th to 12^th April 2026. A booth has been set up to introduce the upcoming “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” which is scheduled to take place from 26^th June to 1^st July 2026. The exhibition will gather philatelic enthusiasts and industry professionals from around the world, offering diversified exhibitions and cultural experiences. CTT invites the public to participate in this international philatelic event in the MITE platform.

To further promote the upcoming “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition” (MACAO 2026), representatives from the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) attended the Philakorea 2025 World Stamp Exhibition, taking place in Seoul, Korea, from September 17 to 21. On the sidelines of the event, CTT held a reception dedicated to MACAO 2026 on September 20. At this reception, Director Lau Wai Meng presented the ongoing preparations and the highlights of the forthcoming exhibition to a group of guests, which included representatives of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP), the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), the Postal Administrations, and several philatelic societies and associations, as well as philatelic dealers, exhibitors, jurors, and commissioners. The presentation showcased the enthusiasm and distinctive character of Macao’s cultural heritage.

In the opening remarks, Director Lau Wai Meng stated that preparatory work for MACAO 2026 has progressed smoothly with the support and guidance of the FIP, FIAP, State Post Bureau of the People’s Republic of China, and China Post Group and is being executed according to the planned timeline. The Director also mentioned that Commissioner applications and booth requests have already been received from various countries and regions, clearly demonstrating the global philatelic community’s confidence in Macao. In addition to the competition exhibit class, the MACAO 2026 will also feature two carefully curated thematic zones: “Treasure Gallery” and Macao Stamp Corner of Arts. By presenting world‑class rare stamps through numerous printing techniques, the public will be able to immerse themselves in the history and culture of philately. Simultaneously, the Macao Stamp Corner of Arts will specifically showcase design drafts, original artworks and era‑specific stamps from Macao’s history, which will portray local stories and promote the city’s multicultural and integrated cultural image, thus making the most of the postage stamps as Macao’s “business card”.

Director Lau also revealed that, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the FIP in 2026, celebratory events will be added during the exhibition. Additionally, the 21st International Competition Class for Issuing Postal Authorities of UPU Member Countries and Territories will be held, with participation from postal services of various countries.

In addition, the delegation also included the Head of the Commercial Department and the Head of the Philately Division. Meanwhile, CTT will spare no effort in preparing for MACAO 2026, ensuring it emerges as a diverse international philatelic event that strengthens global philatelic exchanges and cooperation while promoting the heritage and innovation of philatelic culture.

The Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition Agreement signing ceremony was held on December 3^rd, in Shanghai, formally marking the beginning of the preparation stage of this high-level stamp exhibition. The Director of the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau, Ms. Lau Wai Meng, led a team to Shanghai to attend the "China 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition" and, on the occasion, signed the “Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition" agreement with Mr. Huo Huixiao, President of the Macao Philatelic Association, and Mr. Abdulla M T Khoory, Consultant from the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie.

The Macao 2026 Specialized World Stamp Exhibition, one of the world's major philatelic events, is scheduled to be held from June 26^th to July 1^st, 2026, at the Venetian Macao Conference & Exhibition Center. Jointly organized by the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau and the Macao Philatelic Association, under the patronage of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie, and sponsored by Federation of Inter-Asian Philately, the exhibition will feature 1,500 frames and about 50 booths.

In her speech, the Director Lau Wai Meng mentioned that, following the success of the Macao 2018 - 35^th Asian International Stamp Exhibition, held in Macao, it is now of great significance that a specialized world stamp exhibition is to take place in this city for the first time. Hence, the Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau attaches great importance to this event and is committed to carrying out all the preparatory work, together with the Macao Philatelic Association. Director hopes that this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to build a bridge of friendship between different regions, strengthen international philatelic exchanges and cooperation, and promote the legacy and innovation of world philatelic culture.
